Used Diesel Generator

Used diesel power generator Used Standby or Portable Generator? - The first determination you will need to make is whether you will require stand-by diesel power generator or portable diesel power generator. Simply stated, used portable power generators are fueled by gasoline or diesel and include 120-volt power outlets like the ones in the walls of your home. Used standby power generators are about the same size as, and look similar to, a standard central air conditioner.

Some used portable power generators run on diesel fuel. The vast majority are powered by gasoline, however; most industrial-strength jobsite used generators are built to run on diesel fuel. This includes hand-portable (sometimes on a wheeled cart) and small and large trailer mounted generator sets. Diesel used portable generators can be expected to have a much lower overall operating cost when compared to a gasoline powered unit of this size and class.

Used diesel generators, like those from Onan, Kubota and Kipor are recommended due to their longevity and lower operating costs. Today's modern small diesel power generators are quiet and normally require much less maintenance than comparably sized gas power generators, propane generators or natural gas generators. So, don't hesitate to consider used diesel power generators.

Diesel fuel is an excellent fuel to operate electric power generators with. Diesel has historically been less expensive than gasoline (although that may be changing) and is readily available almost anywhere. Diesel Fuel, (when stored correctly) is very stable, has good shelf-life, and is usually not affected by the elements or mechanical disruptions that cause most residential power outages.

For these reasons, manufacturers of large backup and emergency diesel power generators (industrial generators) usually make this fuel option as a primary fuel source on their industrial stand-by power generator models. These used generator units are generally very large and may be used to supply entire factories, hospitals, malls or other large facilities.

Large stationary industrial diesel power generators generally run on diesel fuel, but some can be powered by natural gas depending upon the application and setup. Diesel is preferred because of the lower operating cost and longer useful life of the overall generator unit. These used power generators are usually engineered specifically for their particular application.
